Non-Discrimination Policy

It continues to be this First Day Shoe Fund’s policy to hire the job applicants it believes to be the best qualified. Moreover, this First Day Shoe Fund, and all of its employees, shall sustain and adhere to the principles of equal opportunity, in compliance with all pertinent federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws governing fair employment. Employment selection and all other employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, disability, age, height, weight, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation and gender identification, status as a Vietnam-Iraq-Afghanistan-era veteran or any other reason prohibited by law.

Any employee who feels discriminated against is expected to make a complaint to the First Day Shoe Fund Board. This complaint will be kept confidential to the maximum extent possible. Any employee found to be engaging in any type of unlawful discrimination will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
